Use quit smoking drugs to be smoke free

Quit smoking drugs are used largely to manage your nicotine addictions.

It is not a magic cure. If you, however, follow the prescriptions and you listen to your doctor's advice you do have a more than fair change to quit with relative ease.

How does a quit smoking drug work?

Upon the intake of nicotine, dopamine is released in your brain. The releasing of dopamine creates a feeling of well being among smokers.

As soon as this feeling of well being comes to an end a smoker wants to light another cigarette to stimulate the feeling again.

When you try to quit, you start craving for this chemical that causes the wonderful stimulation that you got so used to while you were smoking.

The well known withdrawal symptoms are initiated and to stay stopped really becomes an effort. Many smokers are “pushed to re-light” a cigarette again.

Stop smoking drugs contain a combination of chemicals that produce the same effect that nicotine has on the brain.

The good about these drugs is that no harmful side effects are experienced, and natural ingredients are used which are not habit forming.

Two of the best known drugs that are used are Champix and Zyban. Many smokers managed to beat the smoking addiction when used one of these drugs.

Facts worth mentioning about the drugs:

  • The drugs do not contain nicotine and combinations of natural ingredients are used to assist smokers when they try to quit.
  • A wide variety of very effective stop smoking medications is available. Use the internet or consult your doctor in order to find a drug that is most suitable for you.
  • The use of these drugs more than double your changes o quit. It must be mentioned, however, that you will improve your change of quitting if you combine the use of drugs with another form of stop smoking therapy.
  • Remember there are always places where you can find help to quit smoking like - -

The American Heart Association, The American Lung Association and The American Cancer Society

Words of caution about stop smoking drugs:

  • Some people do experience negative side effects, but it should always be remembered that the long term health risks of smoking are too high, and it is better suffer now for may be two to three weeks. After that, you will be free.
  • Make sure that you know how a drug works before you start using it.
  • It is important to go for follow up visits to your doctor. It is necessary that your doctor monitor side effects and adjust the dose you use if needed.
  • These medications are not recommended for women that are pregnant or breast feeding.

To conclude:

Remember that quitting smoking is not easy. It requires a lifestyle change and many times the first efforts of a smoker do not succeed.

Many who tried a second or a third time did succeed and especially those whom used the quit smoking drugs. So can you.
